Lived Experience, Real Impact: NESA and Offploy Join Forces

NESA is proud to announce a new collaboration with Offploy, an organisation dedicated to improving employment outcomes for people with lived experience of the justice system. This partnership brings practical, insight‑driven training and resources to strengthen the capability to support individuals involved in the justice system transition into meaningful work and sustainable careers.

NESA was introduced to Offploy through one of our valued partners, Bounce Global, and the connection quickly revealed a strong alignment in values and purpose, particularly around inclusive employment, dignity, and second chances.

Learning from Lived Experience

A key highlight of this collaboration is the involvement of Jacob Hill, Founder of Offploy, who brings powerful lived experience. Jacob openly shared his journey, insights, and practical recommendations, offering employment consultants real‑world strategies to work effectively.

Drawing on his own experience, Jacob provides thoughtful suggestions, ideas, and techniques to help consultants:

  • Build trust and rapport
  • Understand justice‑related barriers to employment
  • Encourage confidence and aspiration
  • Support clients to succeed in their new work and career pathways

Practical Tools for Service Delivery

As part of this partnership, two videos have been created in collaboration with Offploy. These videos focus on skills, techniques, and ideas for service delivery, with emphasis on supporting justice‑involved clients in a respectful, strengths‑based way.

In addition, Jacob has collaborated to develop a custom training module now available on the NESA Academy. This module complements the video series and provides a structured learning experience that staff can apply directly in their day‑to‑day practice.

Take notes on Jacob’s practical suggestions, and apply these ideas in your next appointment.

This partnership represents a meaningful step forward in equipping our workforce with the insight, empathy, and tools needed to help every individual succeed. Especially those navigating the extra challenges of re‑entering the workforce after involvement with the justice system.
